The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong paid a working visit to the Chief Executive Officer of COCOBOD and his management team on Wednesday, 7th July 2021.

The meeting was one of several that the Vice-Chancellor has paid to cooperate organisations and industries since he assumed office in August 2020. The aim of the visit was to explore areas of possible collaborations between the two organisations for their mutual benefit. The Vice-Chancellor identified research, internship and industrial attachment for students and support to needy but brilliant students as some of the areas for collaboration.

The Chief Executive Officer, Hon. Joseph Boahen Aidoo thanked the Vice-Chancellor for the visit and agreed that there was potential for collaborating in the areas of research to increase production and also production of cocoa products with less sugar.

He indicated that it was possible for COCOBOD to extend a helping hand in the areas of student attachment and internship.

Other management members spoke about other areas of collaboration such as extension services, Agric mechanisation and introduction of ICT into farming.

Present at the meeting were the Deputy Chief Executive in Charge of Finance and Administration, Mr. E. Ray Ankrah, Dr. Emmanuel Adem Opoku, Deputy Chief Executive in Charge of Operations, Mr. Vincent Okyere Akomeah, Managing Director, Cocoa Marketing Company  and Mr. Randolph John Adei, Director of Human Resource.
