The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong, and the Registrar, Mr. Jeff Teye Emmanuel Onyame accompanied by the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dora Edu-Buandoh, have paid a visit to the Central Regional offices of the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) as part of their familiarization tour to stakeholders of the University.
    
During an interaction with the Management of GWCL, Prof. Boampong indicated that the visit was to officially introduce themselves as new office holders of the University. He noted that the University and over the years there had been a successful collaboration between the two institutions. “We have been working with you over the years on our water supply and as one of our loyal business partners, we need to introduce ourselves to you as new leadership of UCC,” he explained.

Extend Courtesies

Prof. Boampong asked the Company to continue to extend the courtesies they had accorded the previous Vice-Chancellors of the University. “We will continue to work with you like our predecessors did but we will need your cooperation for each of us to derive maximum satisfaction from our collaboration,” he added.

The Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dora Edu-Buandoh, commended the Company for its services to the University adding that “We now have improved services and whenever we experience challenges and call for your services, you have always come to solve them”. Prof. Edu-Buandoh was hopeful that they would continue to offer the new top executives of the University the needed support and cooperation they had always provided the University.

Regional Chief Manager of GWCL

Responding, the Regional Chief Manager of GWCL, Mr. Philip Dwamena-Boateng, thanked the Vice-Chancellor and his team for the visit. He noted that UCC was their major client in the region and assured the Vice-Chancellor and his team that the Company would continue to extend quality services to the University. “We have worked on some of the challenges the University was facing and I assure you that we will continue to do more to enhance quality water supply to the University,” he added.

Mr. Boateng expressed interest in partnering with the Department of Water and Sanitation for water testing and treatment. “We work with laboratories in Universities to enhance our work and I believe we can collaborate with UCC in this regard,” he requested. 

Present at the meeting were the Ag. Director of Public Health, Major Kofi Baah-Bentum (Rtd); Vice-Chancellor's Secretary, Ms. Elizabeth Yankah. The rest were Ing. Ebenezer Sackey, Ing. Anthony Atta-Bosompem, and Ing. Joseph W. Ansah from the Directorate of Physical Development and Estate Management (DPDEM).
