The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong, and the Registrar, Mr. Jeff Teye Emmanuel Onyame, have called on the Management of the Central Regional Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).

In his opening remarks, Prof. Boampong noted that the services ECG provided were very critical to the operation of the University. He noted that it was heartwarming that the University had over the years collaborated with ECG to deliver quality education to numerous Ghanaians. “It will be difficult to effectively carry out our mandate without electricity especially in this era where every organisation or institution is going digital,” he stated.

Introduction

The Vice-Chancellor said the visit was to formally introduce themselves to Management of the Company and also deepen the mutually beneficial relationship between the University and ECG. “We are aware of the exceptional services you are giving to the University community and I am here to ask for your continuous support as we also take up leadership of the University,” he entreated.

UCC is our Priority

On his part, the outgoing Regional General Manager, Ing. Ebenezer Ghunney, said he and his team were happy to receive the new Vice-Chancellor and his entourage to their facility. He noted that ECG had always prioritised its services to UCC. “We consider UCC as one of our top clients in the region and respond to your calls with urgency,” he recounted.

Mr. Ghunney noted that though he would soon be assuming another portfolio in the Company, he was confident that his successor would also follow his steps to sustain the relationship between ECG and UCC.

The incoming Central Regional General Manager, Ing. Emmanuel Ankomah, pledged to enhance the collaboration between ECG and UCC. “I know the value of our relationship so I will also play my part to take it to another level. UCC is very dear to our hearts,” he assured.
