UCC, SIC Depeen Partnership

The managements of SIC Insurance PLC and the University of Cape Coast (UCC) are working to deepen their collaboration for their mutual benefits.

This came to light when the Managing Director of SIC Insurance PLC, Mr. James Agyeinim-Boateng, led a team to meet with some officials of the University. The Acting Director of Public Affairs, Dr. Kwabena Antwi-Konadu, received the delegation on behalf of the University.

Mr. Agyeinim-Boateng said the visit was to express appreciation to UCC for working closely with the leading insurance company in Ghana.

He said clients of SIC were safe in all areas, such as claims payment and motor insurance, among others, because the company had a strong foundation rooted in good investments backed by adequate reinsurance policies.

"Our relationship with UCC has been fruitful over the years; we are hopeful it will continue to grow and expand coverage to other lines of business the UCC is engaged in, " the MD said.

 He assured the University of SIC’s credibility, financial strength and capacity to meet its obligations, emphasising that the company, as Ghana’s largest indigenous insurer, offers reliability backed by state support.

 He added that SIC had significantly improved its claims processing systems with many claims now settled within 24 hours to three days while larger claims were handled with increased efficiency.

 He emphasised the company’s commitment to maintaining high service standards, particularly when dealing with institutions that shape future national leaders.

Contributing, the Acting Director of Finance, Mr. George Amfo-Antiri, paid glowing tribute to SIC for its long-standing relationship with UCC.

He also acknowledged concerns regarding insurance claims processes but expressed optimism that industry improvements would translate into better service delivery.

He encouraged a gradual but strategic expansion of SIC’s presence on campus, including the possibility of establishing a visible institutional footprint.

For his part, Dr. Kwabena Antwi-Konadu assured that UCC management would continue to consolidate the business relationship with SIC PLC.

He indicated that the University was open to partnerships that would enhance its infrastructure, protect its assets and create additional value for students and staff.
