A delegation led by a member of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) Sports and Recreation Committee, Dr. Daniel Apaak, has presented trophies won at the 2022 Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) Games to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Johnson Nyarko Boampong, at the Council Chamber.

After nine (9) years of reigning at the GUSA Games, UCC placed second with a total of 43 medals made up of 19 gold, 10 silver and 14 bronze medals at the 2022 edition of the Games.

Speaking at the presentation, Prof Boampong commended the sports team for their sterling performance during the Games held at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

He encouraged the Sports Team to remain resolute and not to lose hope just because they were not able to win the ultimate. He entreated them to take solace that the 2024 GUSA Games which would be hosted by UCC would be host and win.

The Vice-Chancellor promised the delegation that Management would continue to rally support for the Sports Section to spur them on to win more laurels for the University.

On his part, Dr. Apaak thanked Management for supporting the team in diverse ways to Kumasi to achieve that enviable feat.

The delegation included a member of the Sports and Recreation Committee, Mr. Godwin Asante Forkuo, the SRC General Sports Secretary, Mr. Lucas Tatul, as well as staff of the Sports Section.
