A delegation from Share The Smile Ophelia Foundation (STSOF) led by its Global President, Mrs. Ophelia Damptey Asare, has paid a courtesy call to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong.

Mrs. Damptey Asare, who is the wife of Ghana's High Commissioner to Kenya, was on campus to inform the Vice-Chancellor about the establishment of the Foundation.

According to her, STSOF had focused on promoting the social, educational, economic and personal development of both genders to attain a gender equal society.

“The only sure way to achieve our mission is through executing various projects. With the help from various sectors such as individual donors, event sponsors and corporate institutions, major projects have been executed to support communities especially marginalized women and children,” she continued.

Mrs. Damptey Asare requested the Vice-Chancellor to offer himself as the patron for the Foundation on campus.

She encouraged the students to study and work hard to reach their potential, assuring them of the foundation’s continuous support to help them achieve their dreams. 

The delegation also took advantage of the visit to brief Prof. Boampong on other activities and developments within the Foundation.

In response, the Vice-Chancellor expressed delight at the visit and hailed Mrs. Damptey Asare for selecting UCC to establish the Foundation.

Prof. Boampong reaffirmed his commitment to support the Foundation to achieve its vision and mission.

 The delegation included the Head of Protocol, Apostle Kumah Boakye, the Acting President of STSOF, Mr. Paul Osei Sarpong, the Founder of Scholar Connect, Mr. Jehoshaphat Inkoom, and some students of UCC.
