The Pro Vice-Chancellor, University of Cape Coast, Prof. (Mrs.) Rosemond Boohene, has cut sod for the construction of a three-storey office complex for the Institutional Affiliation Office and the School of Educational Development and Outreach.
The facility, to be sited at Akotokyir, one of the communities surrounding the University, is expected to be completed in eighteen (18) months.
Being constructed by Antartic Construction Limited, the project is anticipated to resolve the office space problems facing both the Institutional Affiliation Office and the School of Educational Development and Outreach.
While urging the construction firm to complete the project on time, Prof. Boohene also advised the beneficiary institutions to map out strategies to use the facility to generate funds for the University.
On his part, the Director of the Directorate of Physical Development and Estate Management (DPDEM), Mr. Philip Ntim, assured the Pro Vice-Chancellor that his outfit would ensure the project was completed on schedule.
The Registrar, Mr. Jeff Teye Emmanuel Onyame, as well as hordes of both Assistant and Senior Assistant Registrars graced the short ceremony.
Some representatives of Antartic Construction Limited were also present.
