The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has organised a day's orientation for fresh sandwich students.

The initiative was to make the students aware of the University’s rules and regulations as well as provide the platform for the new students to interact with the University authorities.

Speakers took the students through course registration, regulations for junior members, campus security services, graduate studies, the programme duration, academic programmes, policies and regulations, as well as UCC Sexual Harassment Policy and Procedures, among others.

Prof. Eugene Maafo Darteh

Speaking at the orientation, the Dean of Students, Prof. Eugene Maafo Darteh, congratulated the students on their admission and urged them to pay particular attention to their studies, be disciplined, law abiding and not allow the negative influence of others affect them.

He cautioned the students against sexual harassment, unsanctioned demonstrations, stealing and fighting since those acts could lead to their dismissal from the school.

The Dean of Students told the students that UCC would not compromise on quality as it would continue to uphold standards and warned that cheating and other forms of malpractices would not be tolerated.

Also in attendance during the orientation were the Registrar, Mr. Jeff Teye Onyame; Dean of the School of Graduate Studies, Prof. Sarah Darkwa and Dr. Theresah Patrine Ennin amongst others.
