The Faculty of Science and Technology Education at the College of Education Studies, University of Cape Coast, has refurbished its library. The refurbishment included painting, new furniture, re-tiling and ceiling work, cable installation, and the setup of networking equipment and air conditioning.

This renovation was prompted by the library's previous poor condition.

During the event, the Acting Provost, Prof. Douglass Agyei Darko, highlighted the significance of libraries for any 21st-century institution.

He commended the Faculty's leadership for their foresight in renovating the library and urged users to take good care of the facility.

He encouraged both staff and students to utilize the library's resources to enhance teaching and learning.

The Deputy Librarian, Sam Jonah Library,  Mr. Christopher Kwame Filson, noted that the Sam Jonah Library offers approximately 45,000 electronic books and 45 databases, among other valuable resources.

He explained that users, irrespective of location, only need a compatible laptop with internet access to download and utilize these electronic books effectively.

Therefore, users of this satellite library must take advantage of this electronic resource to enhance research, teaching and learning.

Dr. (Mrs.) Patience Danquah Monnie, the Vice-Dean of the Faculty, stressed the importance of reading as a key method for acquiring quality education, emphasizing that it exposes students to a wealth of knowledge found in various materials.

She expressed optimism that the renovated library would create an inviting environment for students to spend more time there.
