Electricity Section Honours Four Retired Staff

The Electricity Section has honoured four retired staff members of the University at an End-of-Year Get-Together.
    
The three staff members are Mrs. Agnes Arthur, Mrs. Margaret Addison-Fynn and Mr. James Boafo. Mr. Boafo was presented with a table-top refrigerator and Mrs. Arthur received a gas cooker with oven whiles Mrs. Addison –Fynn and Mr. John Billy Arthur received cash prizes.  
    
In his remarks at the function, the Head of the Section, Mr. J. W. Ansah, noted that the presentation was to show appreciation to the retired staff for their selfless services to the Section in particular and the University in general. He indicated that section has instituted a welfare policy where members make contributions to offer support when the need arose. “We have supported staff members that have married, given birth or bereaved some amount of money and also given refrigerators, ceiling fans and other gadgets to staff who retire from the Section every year” he explained.

Mr. Ansah further placed on record that the Section started the presentation of household items as package to its retired staff long before the University adopted the practice. “Our former Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Prof. S. K. Adjepong recommended to the Wefare Section to adopt the practice of presenting other packages to retired staff of   University after he witnessed one of our end-of-year get-together. I want the University to recognise this aspect of our history” he noted.

The Director of Academic Affairs, Mr. Jeff Teye Onyame who chaired the function commended staff of the Section for their hard work and dedication to their duties. “We are aware of the risk you go through to ensure that we get uninterrupted power supply to the University Community,” he indicated. He said Management was appreciative of their selfless services and assured that they would be provided with the need tools and equipment to effectively carry out their duties.
        
Present at the function was the Director of Public Affairs, Major Kofi Baah-Bentum and Deputy Head of Electricity Section, Mr. Benedict Addo.
