The Directorate of Public Affairs (DPA) of the University of Cape Coast, has held a special send-off ceremony in honour of its outgoing Director, Major Kofi Baah-Bentum (rtd), to acknowledge his outstanding leadership and invaluable contributions to the University.

The event, marked by heartfelt messages and expressions of appreciation, was organised to celebrate Major Baah-Bentum’s dedicated and selfless service to the Directorate and the wider University community.

The Registrar, Mr. Gideon Enoch Abbeyquay (Esq.) praised Major Baah-Bentum (Rtd) for his dedicated service and remarkable contributions to the University over the past 13 years.

He acknowledged Major Baah-Bentum’s instrumental role in strengthening the relationship between the University and the media, fostering greater transparency and visibility.

 Mr. Abbeyquaye also highlighted his efforts in deepening engagement with various publics of the University, enhancing the institution’s reputation and communication culture.

He expressed profound appreciation for Major Baah-Bentum’s professionalism, commitment, and legacy of impactful service.

Speaking on behalf of the Sectional Heads of the Directorate, Dr. Kwabena Antwi-Konadu commended the outgoing Director for his professionalism and the strong collaborative relationship he fostered with the leadership and staff of the Directorate. “Through his encouragement and guidance, all the heads have become accredited members of the Institute of Public Relations, Ghana—the professional body regulating public relations in the country,” he noted.

Dr. Antwi-Konadu added that although Major Baah-Bentum was leaving the University, his expertise and experience would continue to be sought after by the team.

A special documentary, produced by the Campus Broadcasting Services, chronicling Major Baah-Bentum’s tenure and achievements, was screened during the ceremony, drawing admiration and applause from attendees.

The event was graced by several dignitaries including the Director of  Health Services, Dr. James Kojo Prah, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Education, Prof. Kankam Boadu;; Director of Finance, Mrs. Elizabeth Obese; Outgoing Director of Internal Audit, Mr. Emmanuel Owusu; Director of Human Resource, Mr. Isaac Adom-Konadu; Director, Directorate of Information Communication and Technology, Dr. John Edumadze; Director of Consular and General Services, Dr. (Mrs.) Mary Obimpeh and Director of Academic Affairs, Dr. Atta Yeboah-Sarpong.
