Prof. Frederick Ato Armah of the Department of Environmental Sciences and also the Director of the Directorate of Research, Innovation and Consultancy, University of Cape Coast, on Friday, 28th May, 2021 donated a brand-new Canon Photocopier IR2520 with toner and stabilizer-3000VA worth Thirteen Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHS 13,000.00) to the Department of Population and Health (DPH) at a ceremony organized at the Faculty of Social Sciences Conference room. This donation was in his personal capacity as academic senior member of the University.

Prof. Armah noted that such gestures had become a part of him following from his experiences in Canada while pursuing doctoral studies. He recounted a few similar presentations he had made to his parent department and other offices in the University. He indicated that his desire for a University with facilities for quality research and scholarly work motivated him to make this donation.

He encouraged individual faculty members to endeavour to identify needs in and around their spheres of operations and to take steps towards finding solutions. By so doing, we would be collectively contributing our quotas towards building a formidable institution in addition to teaching and research.

Prof. David Teye Doku, Head, Department of Population and Health expressed appreciation to Prof. Armah and urged all members of the department to emulate this wonderful gesture. Other academic senior members, on behalf of the Department, praised Prof. Armah for responding timely to their need.

Present at the brief ceremony were: Prof. David Teye Doku, Prof. Fiifi Amoako Johnson, Prof. Kobina Esia-Donkoh, Dr. Addae Boateng Adu-Gyamfi, Dr. Samuel Agblorti, Dr. Listowel Ferka and Dr. Joshua Amo-Adjei, Mrs Theresa Maison and Mr. Ernest Asante.
