The Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology Education, University of Cape Coast (UCC), Prof. Douglas Darko Agyei, has thrown his weight behind the 2022 BlueCanvas Studios Artists and Architects’ Residency programme in Cape Coast.

Organized by BlueCanvas Studios, the programme brings together artists and senior architects to showcase their works on a variety of aesthetic mediums that appeal to art lovers, collectors, and students of art.

Prof. Agyei gave his endorsement when he received a delegation from BlueCanvas Studios led by the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Frederick Bamfo, who is also a lecturer at the Department of Vocational and Technical Education of the University of Cape Coast.

The visit, according to Mr. Bamfo, was to enlist support from the Faculty for the event, which started on 1st July, 2022 and will end on 12th July, 2022.

Mr. Bamfo told the Dean that the artists and architects had showcased their works to students of some senior high schools, fisher folks at Ola(a suburb of Cape Coast), among others. He said his firm would like to replicate the works of BlueCanvas to the University community.

Receiving the delegation, Prof. Agyei noted that the Faculty was ready to host the artists and architects in the University to showcase their works to inspire people who had chosen to follow their talent in the field of art work.

The Dean observed with excitement that a number of Ghanaians were making waves on the international scene with their art work.

He appreciated the effort of BlueCanvas Studios to bring art exhibition to light and expressed hope the event would be held annually to promote art works.

The delegation included a German, Goran Tomcic, as well as Albert Nii Nortey Dowuona, Eugenia Kwarteng, Abigail Ntreh, Sandra Acquah and Isaac Kwadwo Nyarko.
