The Management of the  College of Distance Education (CoDE) of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) and the Distance Education Students Association (DESAG) have made financial support to the Students’ Financial Support Office (STuFSO) to cushion brilliant but needy students to attain their academic goals at UCC.

The College Management and the DESAG-UCC presented  cheques for GH¢60,240.00 and  GH¢120,000.00 respectively as part of their annual contributions to UCC  Scholarship Scheme administered by STuFSO.

The presentations were made at the 15th Annual Delegates Congress of the DESAG held at the School of Medical Sciences Auditorium.
The two-day event, which witnessed the election of national executives of DESAG,  was on the theme: " “Unleashing Potential: Empowering Distance Students with Soft Skills for Success in a Contemporary World.”
Presenting the Cheque on behalf of Management of CoDE management, Prof. Anokye Mohammed Adam, said the gesture was in response to a request from STuFSO to CoDE to provide financial support to brilliant but needy students of UCC pursuing distance education.
He said the College would offer a supporting hand to needy but brilliant students  through STuFSo in their pursuit of higher education.
The National President of DESAG, Mr. Abdul Rahim Umar Farouk,  in a short remark after presentation of the cheque, urged beneficiary students to take their studies seriously to justify the investment.

Receiving the Cheques, the Chairperson of the Students Financial Support Committee, Prof. Rosemond Boohene,expressed gratitude for the continuous support from CoDE and DESAG.
Prof. Boohene, who is also the Pro Vice-Chancellor, called on individuals , organisations and members of the general public to support STuFSO.
