A team from the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Small Enterprise Development (CESED) of the School of Business has met the leadership of Cape Coast Regional Chamber of Commerce to discuss areas of possible collaborations. The team, led by Dr. (Mrs.) Mavis Benneh Mensah, Head of CESED, indicated that the purpose of the visit was to establish partnership with the Chamber to identify entrepreneurs, mentor and coach businesses being incubated at the School of Business. She also said it was also crucial to rotate guests’ speakers to motivate students to become entrepreneurs, adding that it will also help CESED to identify opportunities for internship for students, especially MBA students at the Centre. According to Dr. (Mrs.) Mavis Benneh Mensah, CESED will collaborate with the Chamber to undertake research, particularly case research and also institute joint educational programmes. Receiving the delegation at his office, the Cape Coast Regional Chairman of the Chamber, Mr. Tony Yoofi Pokoo-Aikins, said his outfit will seek assistance from the Centre to write business proposals that will make banks charge entrepreneurs lower interest rates on loans. He thanked CESED for its laudable initiative of reaching out to business people in the metropolis. The CESED delegation included Prof. F. O. Boachie-Mensah, Dr. Edward Amarteifio, Dr. Keren Arthur, Mrs. Gloria Agyepong, Mr. Ernest Asiedu and Mrs. Margaret Frimpong.
