A two-day training programme on ‘ICT Use and its Importance in Academic Practices’ has been organised by the Centre for Teaching Support (CTS) for Deans/Directors/Heads and Coordinators of various units in the College of Education Studies.

The training programme aimed at assisting participants to acquire an understanding of University Rankings and the indicators for ranking Universities, to use and promote the use of Institutional email addresses and staff blogging.

Participants were also assisted to examine and reflect on their own professional practices in the light of Professional Learning Networks and other ICT tools.

As part of the training, participants were taken through how to develop hands-on capacity building skills in the preparation of their own Google Scholar platforms and other Professional Networks. Also they acquired an understanding of the affordances of ICT and Frameworks of ICT integration for teaching and research in addition to the use of the College of Education MOODLE platform as an E-learning tool in teaching their subject matter.

Resource persons for the two-day training programme were Dr. Douglas Agyei (Director for CTS), Dr. K Kwaa-Aidoo and Mr. Eric Terkpertey.
