The Centre for African and International Studies of University of Cape Coast (UCC) has received two sets of desktop computers to enhance its work.
The Pro Vice-Chancellor of UCC, Prof. Mrs. Rosemond Boohene, who presented the computers, mentioned that the Centre had earlier informed her of their plight which was the need for computers to augment their official activities.
She noted that discussions for support with the Building Expertise and Training for Growth in the Consumer Goods and Food Processing Industry in Ghana (BET Ghana) project resulted in the donation of a brand new DELL computer to the Centre. The Pro Vice-Chancellor’s Office also supported the Centre with an additional computer.
Prof. Boohene appealed to the Centre to put the equipment to good use and further assured them of more of such interventions to boost their work.
Receiving the computers on behalf of the Center, Dr. Eva Quansah, a lecturer, was grateful to the Pro Vice-Chancellor for her swift response in resolving the Centre’s plight.
Other staff members of the Centre present to receive the computers were Dr. Mario Nisbett, a lecturer and Sammy Korbiah Appiah, Administrator.
A Senior Assistant Registrar at the Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Mr. Alfred Ghartey was also present.
